Miniature NBR O-Ring Size Chart (CS × ID)

Miniature O-rings are specified by cross section (CS) and inside diameter (ID). The table below shows the current miniature manufacturing range. Non-standard combinations can be reviewed separately.

CROSS SECTION (CS) AVAILABLE ID RANGE
0.20 mm0.60–3.00 mm
0.30 mm0.70–4.00 mm
0.40 mm0.80–5.00 mm
0.50 mm1.00–6.00 mm
0.60 mm1.20–8.00 mm
0.80 mm1.50–10.00 mm
1.00 mm2.00–12.00 mm
1.20 mm2.50–15.00 mm
1.50 mm3.00–18.00 mm
1.80 mm3.50–20.00 mm
2.00 mm4.00–22.00 mm
2.50 mm5.00–25.00 mm

Dimensional Tolerances

The following values describe current manufacturing reference ranges. Final tolerances are confirmed against the drawing, compound, tooling condition and measurement method.

CS RANGE (MM) CS TOLERANCE ID RANGE (MM) ID TOLERANCE
0.20–0.50 ±0.03 mm 0.60–3.00 ±0.05 mm
0.51–0.80 ±0.04 mm 3.01–5.00 ±0.06 mm
0.81–1.00 ±0.05 mm 5.01–8.00 ±0.08 mm
1.01–1.50 ±0.06 mm 8.01–12.00 ±0.10 mm
1.51–2.00 ±0.08 mm 12.01–20.00 ±0.13 mm
2.01–3.00 ±0.09 mm 20.01–25.00 ±0.15 mm

These values are manufacturing reference ranges rather than a blanket tolerance standard. Critical dimensions and acceptance criteria should be confirmed during specification review.

Inspection Focus for Miniature Parts

Inspection methods should match the actual part dimensions and the defects that need to be controlled. Automatic inspection can be evaluated according to cross section, contrast and detectable defect limits.

Where It's Used

Where Miniature NBR O-Rings Are Used

This range is intended for compact sealing positions where NBR is compatible with the working medium and available groove space is limited.

  • Compact Valves & Fittings

Small valve bodies, ports and fluid connections with limited groove space.

  • Sensors & Precision Assemblies

Compact housings and assemblies requiring small sealing diameters and controlled installation.

  • Small Pumps & Fluid Components

Miniature pumping, dosing and fluid-handling components where the selected NBR compound matches the working medium.

  • Automotive Small Components

Sensors, connectors and other compact automotive sealing positions where the specified NBR compound matches the operating medium.

Assembly Guidance

Handling and Assembly of Miniature O-Rings

Small O-rings can be damaged or misplaced more easily during assembly. Groove design, edge condition and handling method should be reviewed together with the nominal O-ring size.

  • Avoid Excessive Stretching

Do not stretch miniature O-rings more than necessary during installation, especially when the cross section is very small.

  • Protect Sharp Edges

Avoid burrs, sharp edges and exposed threads that may cut or nick the sealing surface during installation.

  • Keep Parts Clean

Use clean handling and storage conditions to prevent dust, fibers or oils from contaminating small sealing surfaces.

  • Check Groove Compatibility

Confirm groove dimensions, compression and installation clearance before finalizing the miniature O-ring size.

Technical FAQs

Frequently Asked Questions

Answers to common questions about miniature size limits, tolerances, inspection and specification review.

What is the smallest miniature NBR O-ring you can produce?
The current miniature range starts from ID 0.60 × CS 0.20 mm. Final feasibility depends on the compound, tolerance and inspection requirements.
What tolerances apply to miniature NBR O-rings?
The tolerance table on this page shows Hongjie's current manufacturing reference ranges. Final tolerances should be confirmed against the drawing, compound, tooling condition and measurement method.
How are very small O-rings inspected?
Inspection methods depend on the part dimensions, tolerance and defect criteria. Dimensional, visual and automatic inspection options are reviewed according to the project.
Can you produce sizes outside the listed chart?
Non-standard CS × ID combinations can be reviewed from a drawing or sample. For dimensions above the miniature range, see our Custom Rubber O-Rings.
Are these miniature O-rings AS568 sizes?
Some dimensions may overlap with small standard sizes, but this page covers Hongjie's miniature manufacturing range rather than the complete AS568 series. For standard dash sizes, see our AS568 O-Rings.
What should I provide for a quotation?
Provide the required ID and CS, drawing or sample, NBR grade or working medium, hardness, operating temperature, quantity, tolerance requirements and inspection criteria.
