NBR gaskets, also known as Buna-N or nitrile rubber gaskets, are die-cut or molded to your drawing for sealing against oils, fuels and hydraulic fluids.
Hongjie handles die-cutting, kiss-cutting, compression molding and injection molding in one Shenzhen facility. Prototypes, tooling and production therefore follow the same process control, supported by 25 years of OEM rubber manufacturing for automotive, hydraulic and industrial applications.
NBR is commonly selected for gaskets exposed to petroleum oils, fuels, mineral-based lubricants and hydraulic fluids. It also offers good abrasion resistance and relatively low compression set under sustained bolt load, which helps flange and housing gaskets maintain sealing force over time.
In dynamic applications such as reciprocating rod seals, hydraulic-cylinder wipers and pump-shaft seals, NBR provides the same oil and fuel resistance while operating under continuous motion rather than a fixed clamp load.
NBR is less suitable for outdoor exposure and long-term ozone or UV aging. For those conditions, compare EPDM rubber gaskets. If you need weathering resistance together with moderate chemical resistance, neoprene gaskets are another option to review.
Hongjie molds and die-cuts NBR gaskets to the customer specification rather than selecting from fixed stock sizes. Grade and thickness are matched to the application and sealing conditions.
| Property | Typical NBR Gasket Range |
|---|---|
| Durometer (hardness) | 40–90 Shore A |
| Thickness | 0.5mm – 10mm (heavier sections available on request) |
| Operating temperature | −30°C to +120°C (fluid- and duty-dependent) |
| Dimensional tolerance | Standard ±0.10mm–±0.25mm; precision down to ±0.02mm on features under 10mm |

Confirm your exact fluid, temperature, and clamp-load conditions with our engineers before finalizing grade and thickness — those variables, not the polymer name alone, decide the right spec.
Format options draw on our core rubber processes:
One hydraulic pump housing required a die-cut flange gasket for ISO 46 hydraulic oil at a continuous 80°C. Commercial-grade 70 Shore A NBR sheet maintained the seal without swelling during extended fluid immersion, and the prototype die was reused for production without additional tooling.
Automotive fuel-system and hydraulic-circuit gaskets
Industrial pump housings and hose-end seals exposed to oils or lubricants
Oil-filled transformers and electrical enclosures, including electrical equipment rubber parts
Food and beverage processing equipment using FDA-compliant white NBR
General automotive body and powertrain sealing, including automotive rubber seals

Each NBR gasket program begins with a CAD file or physical sample. Submit your drawing for a project-specific quote rather than a generic catalog price.
Functional prototypes typically ship within 3–5 business days. MOQ, tooling lead time and production schedule depend on the part geometry, thickness and order volume, and are confirmed after engineering review.
Production follows IATF 16949:2016 and ISO 13485:2016-certified process control, with FDA- and NSF-compliant material options for regulated applications. The engineering team can also draw on more than 200 proprietary rubber compounds when NBR is not the best fit.
For parts that combine gasket sealing with ribs, bosses or metal inserts, see custom molded rubber parts or the broader custom rubber parts program.
Send us your drawing, target fluid, and operating conditions, and we'll confirm the right NBR grade and format — die-cut, kiss-cut, or molded — along with tooling and export packaging options. If your assembly also needs O-rings in the same NBR compound, our custom rubber O-rings line covers that from the same factory.
