Automotive Rubber Parts

Category: Custom Rubber Parts

Hongjie holds critical features to ±0.02 mm and supports compounds rated from –60°C to +325°C. Before an automotive part enters production, its resistance to 500+ fluids, gases and chemicals is tested.

This work takes place in an 11,000 m² facility certified to IATF 16949:2016, with roughly 150 employees. Across its manufacturing operations, Hongjie delivers more than 50 million precision-inspected parts each year for multiple industries.

Automotive Rubber Parts We Manufacture

Automotive programs typically source these part types from us:

  • Engine and transmission mounts

  • Suspension and chassis bushings

  • Door and window seal strips

  • Dust boots and protective sleeves

  • Vibration dampers and buffers

  • Rubber-to-metal bonded parts

  • Custom molded automotive components

Fixed sealing points on fuel, brake and A/C lines typically use automotive O-rings. Wiring that passes through firewalls or panels uses automotive rubber grommets to protect the harness and seal the opening.

Weatherstrips and static gasket applications are covered by automotive rubber seals. For fuel or vacuum systems that require pressure control, see custom rubber diaphragms.

Sourcing Specifics

  • Quantity

No fixed minimum published — confirm order quantity with your drawing during RFQ review.

  • Tooling

Custom mold design is handled in-house; tooling lead time and cost are quoted per part geometry once we review your drawing.

  • Prototypes

Functional prototypes ship in as little as 3–5 business days for fit and function checks ahead of production tooling.

  • PPAP

Full PPAP documentation is available on our automotive rubber diaphragm program. Other automotive parts are supported with dimensional and material verification tied to your drawing requirements, confirmed at quoting.

Materials Engineered for Automotive Conditions

NBR handles fuel and oil contact in mounts and grommets; EPDM resists UV and ozone in exterior weatherstrip; FKM survives high-temperature underhood fluids; silicone and HNBR cover extreme-temperature and coolant-adjacent parts; neoprene suits general vibration and weather sealing.

Bonded Metal-Rubber Parts: Built and Tested In-House

Mounts, bushings, and vibration dampers depend on a reliable rubber-to-metal bond, not just the right compound. We design and cut the bonding tooling in-house, then run hardness, tensile, compression set, and accelerated aging checks on the bonded assembly — not just the raw compound — before it's released to your line.

Precision & Quality for Automotive Programs

Tooling runs under IATF 16949:2016, with process control tracked to a Cpk > 1.33 target using statistical process control. Every automotive lot ships against these controls, not spot checks.

From Drawing to Production

Where the gasket sees petroleum oil, hydraulic fluid or fuel, NBR rubber gaskets are the default compound. Vibration-isolation and mounting applications are handled under custom rubber bushings.

FAQ

Frequently Asked Questions

Is PPAP documentation available for automotive rubber parts?
Yes, for our automotive rubber diaphragm program specifically. Other automotive parts are supported with dimensional and material verification tied to your drawing, confirmed during quoting rather than as a standing PPAP package.
